Afroko is a platform built to support Afro-Caribbean businesses, celebrate culture, and help communities connect across the UK. To keep Afroko safe, respectful and trustworthy for everyone, we ask all users and business owners to follow these Community Standards.

These standards apply to all activity on Afroko, including business listings, messages, photos, comments, events and any other content shared on the platform.

1. Respect for the Afro-Caribbean Community

Afroko exists to uplift and support the African and Caribbean community. All users must show respect and cultural sensitivity. We do not allow content that:
• Disrespects African or Caribbean heritage
• Insults cultural practices
• Stereotypes communities
• Promotes racism, xenophobia or discrimination

We reserve the right to remove content that harms or disrespects the community Afroko serves.

2. Honesty and Transparency

Listings must always reflect the truth. Users and businesses must not:
• Provide false or misleading information
• Pretend to offer services they do not provide
• Use fake photos or stolen images
• Exaggerate or use deceptive marketing

Honesty builds trust between users and businesses.

3. Safe and Lawful Behaviour

Afroko must be used safely and responsibly. The following are not allowed:
• Illegal goods or services
• Counterfeit products
• Content promoting violence or harm
• Fraud, scams or deceptive activities
• Unlicensed professional services
• Encouraging unlawful behaviour

Any illegal activity will be removed and may be reported to authorities.

4. Respectful Communication

Users must communicate respectfully with one another and with businesses. The following are not permitted:
• Bullying, harassment or verbal abuse
• Threatening or intimidating messages
• Hate speech, sexism, racism or homophobia
• Personal attacks
• Spamming or unwanted messages

Afroko is a place for positive, constructive interactions.

5. Appropriate and Professional Content

All content must be suitable for a public directory. Do not upload:
• Explicit or adult content
• Graphic or violent images
• Offensive gestures or symbols
• Irrelevant or inappropriate images
• Private personal information of others

Photos must represent your real business, products or services.

6. Protection of Intellectual Property

Businesses and users must only upload content they own or have permission to use. It is not allowed to:
• Upload Google images
• Copy photos from competitors
• Use protected logos or branding without permission
• Post copyrighted videos, music or designs
